Lol, from your mom? That’s kind of random, why does she have to solve this?
First, do same, change, flip to condense it into one fraction:
(x^2 -9x +8)(4-x^2) / (x^2+6x-16)(x^2+x-72).
(x-8)(x-1)*(2+x)(2-x) / (x+8)(x-2)*(x+9)(x-8)
Now, cancel things on the top and bottom: The (x-8)s cancel out. (2-x) and (x-2) are -1s of each other. So instead of cancelling them and getting a 1, we get a -1 instead. So just tack on a negative sign in front.
So we get:
-(x-1)(x+2) / (x+9)(x+8), which simplifies to -(x^2 +x - 2)/(x^2+17x +72)
